Caprese Salad

8-10 as a side

  • 6-8 large, ripe tomatoes
  • 1lb. fresh mozzarella
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Slice tomatoes and mozzarella thick, about 1/4 inch per slice.
  2. Arrange tomatoes and mozzarella slices on a platter, placing basil leaves in between slices.
  3. Lightly drizzle salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to season. Serve.
